What We Do (and Don't Do)

Therapy Path

Whether you are at-risk, in the early stages of HD, caring for someone with HD, or an individual who cares about someone with HD, you may need help to become more resilient to face the challenges ahead. HD reach offers confidential on-going teletherapy that will focus on teaching techniques to help with issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Licensed therapists offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help negotiate life’s journey as it relates to HD. Therapy is designed to help individuals, couples, and families.

The fee for this path is $150 per session but bulk discounted pricing is also available for 5 sessions at $625 or 10 sessions for $1,000.

If you are interested in signing up for this path, please call us.

All fees can be paid with cash, checks, Visa or MasterCard. HD Reach is answerable only to you and does not accept insurance. However, we can provide you with documentation for you to file with your insurance.

FAQs

Where do I need to be located to participate in the Therapy Path?

Due to HD Reach staff licensing, you would need to physically be in the state of Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia for the online appointments. If you reside outside of these states, the HD Reach team can work with you to explore options. These options include arranging appointments while you are staying at a hotel or visiting someone who resides in DE, NC, SC, or VA.

What is the process to sign up for the Therapy Path?

When you reach out to the HD Reach team expressing interest in the Therapy Path, a team member will contact you to explore if the Therapy Pathway will meet your needs. If so, you will be sent electronic documents (via email) which should be reviewed and signed. You will also receive a payment link. Once the signed electronic documents are returned and payment for the Therapy Path is received, you will be connected with the therapist to schedule your initial appointment.

If I use my credit card to pay for the Therapy Path, how is the information kept anonymous?

Your payments for Therapy Path are not anonymous. If you pay online via credit card, the transaction will say HD Reach on your credit card statement. If you prefer to pay via check or cash, you can mail your payments to HD Reach. All information about your participation in the Therapy Path is kept confidential. The only time HD Reach will disclose information is with your written consent.

How soon can I schedule my first Therapy Path session?

After all electronic documents are signed, returned, and payment is received, you will be connected with the therapist directly to coordinate schedules.

Does HD Reach offer evening and weekend sessions for the Therapy Path?

Evening sessions are available depending on availability. Weekend sessions are not typically offered.

Is the Therapy Path for an individual or can couples and families participate in the Therapy Path?

The Therapy Path can be for an individual, couples, or families where the primary concern is related to HD. The therapist can discuss this with you on a case-by-case basis. A release of information for additional participants will need to be obtained for couples and family members prior to beginning the online sessions.

How long are the Therapy Path sessions?

Therapy Path sessions are 60 minutes. The therapist will wait online for 15 minutes from the start of the agreed upon date and time. If you do not login within that time, the therapist will not be able to meet with you. You will also incur a no-show fee.

How frequently can I have sessions with the therapist?

Therapy Path sessions are determined on a case-by-case basis. During the initial session, the therapist will work with you to come up with a comprehensive plan for your therapy.
