HD Reach is pleased to announce Debbi Fox-Davis as the next Executive Director of HD Reach. Debbi’s compassion and concern make her an excellent choice to lead HD Reach into the next chapter for North Carolina families affected by Huntington’s disease (HD). She brings to HD Reach a strong history of caring for those who struggle with apparently insurmountable challenges such as children in need of loving, stable homes; unemployed and under employed women; and those affected by homelessness. Debbi’s care, compassion, and professional experience will expand HD Reach’s programs and services to best achieve our mission of providing access to care, education, and support to those affected by Huntington’s disease.
“We are fortunate to bring Debbi into the HD Reach family,” said Terry Buehner, HD Reach’s Board Chair. “Debbi’s unique skill set coupled with her compassion for others will help HD Reach to continue to expand our programs to address the challenges HD families face.”
Debbi Fox-Davis succeeds Ann Lassiter who became HD Reach’s first Executive Director in 2015 after serving on the board since 2014. Under Ann’s leadership, HD Reach nearly doubled funding and support to ensure HD Reach’s services were available to all families affected by Huntington’s disease. Services expanded through the development of a program to address irritability, a pilot program for at-risk individuals, and expansion of support groups to Eastern North Carolina.
“Ann made a long-lasting impact at HD Reach. Ann’s outstanding leadership, along with her personal history with HD, her strategic vision, and business acumen provided a strong foundation on which we are excited to build. We are grateful for her leadership, passion, and dedication to the HD community,” said Terry Buehner.
Debbi’s extensive experience in nonprofits in North Carolina includes being the first Executive Director of Dress for Success and developing resources and support for children in need of permanent, safe, and loving families for the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina. Debbi has held various nonprofit positions including running NC State’s Institute for Nonprofits online journal for nonprofit management, Assistant Director for Development at Habitat for Humanity, and Director of Development and Marketing for the North Carolina Theatre.
“HD Reach plays a vital role in the lives of people impacted by Huntington disease and I am honored to join this talented staff and dedicated board,” said Debbi Fox-Davis. “I look forward to building upon the solid foundation already laid to bring much needed help and resources to the HD community.”
